This piece is one of the most personal works I have ever created. "Chateau de Grace" was the name of my childhood home, and it reflects on the early years of me and my siblings. We faced significant challenges, as both of our parents struggled with mental illness, and we endured substantial abuse. I initially intended this work to be an autobiographical exploration of the aftermath of those experiences. However, during the creative process, my brother tragically lost his battle with alcohol and is now in a vegetative state with severe brain damage. This profound loss has transformed the piece into a tribute to resilience in the face of trauma.
